microSD Card
Why You Need a microSD™ Card: Though a microSD card isn’t mandatory for most phone uses, it is necessary for use of the music player and the camera. The Samsung Stratosphere comes with a 4GB card and accepts microSD cards up to 32GB.
Calendars
Synched Calendars: When adding an account such as Google™ or Facebook®, you can choose to also sync your calendars from those accounts with the Samsung Stratosphere™ calendar. The calendar application displays events from multiple sources in a handy, color-coded format.
Screen Editing
Quick Screen Editing: In the top left corner of the Applications menu and the home screens appears a Settings icon. (On the home screen, the icon appears only momentarily during scrolling.) Touch this icon as a shortcut to the screen editing feature. This option can also be found by touching Menu key > Edit on the Applications screen and Menu key > Edit page on the Home screen.
Multitasking
Recent Apps: Quickly jump to recently used apps by touching and holding the Home key to launch the Recent Apps menu. Touch the app’s icon to go to it.
Home Screens
Organizing Shortcuts Into Folders: You can group your shortcuts into folders for more organized home screens. To add a folder to a home screen, touch Menu key > Add > Folders > New Folder. Touch and hold (long press) a shortcut and then drag it into the folder. Rename a folder by touching to open it and then long-pressing the top bar that displays the folder name.
Viewing Active Applications: To see what applications are currently active and are using the phone’s RAM, touch and hold the Home key > Task Manager. Touch Exit or Exit All to close individual or all active applications.
Adding Browser Shortcuts: Users can take their bookmarked websites and turn them into home screen shortcuts for instant internet browsing. To add a browser bookmark to a home screen, touch Menu key > Add > Shortcuts > Bookmark.
Notifications
Accessing the Notifications Panel: The Notifications Panel displays alerts of received messages and completed downloads and offers access to controls for turning on Bluetooth®, GPS, Airplane Mode, Mobile Data and Auto Rotation. To access the Notifications Panel, touch the top of the screen and sweep down.
Card Slots
Using the Card Slots: Underneath the battery cover, the Samsung Stratosphere has both a microSD card slot and a microSIM slot. For proper phone operation, do not try to insert the microSIM into the microSD slot or vice versa.
Apps Organization
Organize Apps: Within the applications menu, apps can be sorted into folders for a cleaner, more organized interface. For instance, you might want to group games together in one folder, or pull all your social networking apps into a single spot.
Moving and Removing Installed Applications: While not all applications can be moved or deleted, most third-party applications can be. Touch Home screen > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Touch the All tab and touch the name of an application. Select Uninstall to delete the app, or select Move to USB Storage to move the app.
Creating an Apps Folder: To create the folder, within the Applications menu, touch Menu > New Folder. Enter the name of the folder that you wish to add. Drag the desired apps into the Folder icon at the bottom of the screen. When finished, touch Menu > Save.
Media Hub
Media Hub Download Requirements: While in a 3G network area, you can preview Media Hub content, but you must move to a Wi-Fi® or 4G LTE network to download movies and TV shows.
