Tips and Tricks
Focus 2
1
Cloud Computing
SkyDrive:
Windows Live® SkyDrive® provides free storage so you can store photos online, share them with the people you choose, and access them from any web browser. For more information about SkyDrive, go to explore.live.com and click on SkyDrive.
SharePoint and Lync Integration:
Take advantage of powerful Microsoft tools from SharePoint® and Lync®, both integrated with your Samsung Focus 2. With SharePoint, you can download documents, make updates on your phone, and save them back to SharePoint. Lync gives you a real-time look at co-worker availability and makes it easy to contact colleagues.
2
Daily Briefing
What’s Happening Now:
The Now Tile instantly provides a look at what’s happening now, with weather, news, stocks, top tweets and more. To set up your preferences, tap the Now tile on the Start screen and then tap Settings
3
Lost Phone
Find Your Lost Phone:
A free service at the My Phone section of windowsphone.com can ring, lock, erase or show your phone on a map from any internet-connected computer. Find My Phone makes it easier to recover your phone—or to prevent someone from using it without your permission. To use this feature you must set up a Windows Live® ID and activate the feature on your phone by tapping Settings > Find My Phone. Then sign in at windowsphone.live.com and click on Find My Phone.
4
MicroSIM®
MicroSIM Required:
Your Samsung Focus 2 requires a specially sized microSIM card to function. Do not attempt to replace the microSIM in the Focus 2 with a regular-sized SIM card.
5
Multimedia
Instant Camera Access:
A dedicated camera button on the right side of the phone gives you instant access to the camera feature, even when your phone is locked, so you’ll never miss that once-in-a-lifetime shot. Press and hold the button to launch the camera menu.
AT&T U-verse Mobile:
AT&T U-verse® Mobile lets subscribers manage their home DVR remotely. Schedule recordings, browse the TV guide, and even view select TV movies and TV shows. Touch AT&T U-verse Mobile to sign in to your U-verse account.
Zune Music Pass:
A Zune® Music Pass gives you access to unlimited streaming music on your Samsung Focus 2 for a monthly or annual fee. To try out Zune Music Pass, touch Music + Videos and then touch Unlimited Music.
6
Power Saving
Conserving Battery Power:
When you turn on Battery Saver, your phone automatically turns off some of the features that use battery in the background. So when Battery Saver is on, your phone will no longer automatically receive email or calendar updates, update some Live Tiles, or allow apps to run in the background. Flick the Start screen to the left, and tap Settings > Battery Saver.
